Why use Vaughan and Monaghan’s Financial Planning service?
Experience
Vaughan & Monaghan has been in business since 1923 and Stephen O'Donoghue has been with the Financial Services Division since 2000 advising cilents just like you.
Where can we add value?
Our service takes as a starting point – Where can we add value to help you enjoy the lifestyle you want?
Too often advice is centred on investments or products. At Vaughan and Monaghan our Financial Planning service concentrates on providing advice in the form of strategies that will give you peace of mind that your individual needs will be met.
For example, for you it might mean knowing that your family are protected in the event of disaster, that you have the right amount of income in retirement or knowing that you have enough to see you out, and then that what’s left will end up in the right hands.
What value can we add?
Often we can make a tangible difference in dollar terms by suggesting strategies that will increase your savings or income , produce higher Centrelink benefits or reduce your tax bill.
Equally important though is the “sleep at night factor” – knowing that someone else is watching over your financial affairs.
Some of the things that clients tell us they value our advice for are:
• Goal setting – helping you understand what it is you want to achieve and then suggesting sensible options that will help you get there.
• Helping you make sound investment decisions rather than emotional reactions.
• Equally importantly in many cases – helping you avoid making the wrong decisions or taking the wrong actions.
• Improving and maximising your position whilst working within the law.
• Keeping clients accountable – having helped you define what you need to do to achieve your goals – helping you stay on track.
• We can provide answers to your financial questions – if we don’t know the answers off the top of our heads we will know how to find out.
• We teach you how to handle your money and help you grasp financial concepts by explaining complex rules simply.
True Fee for Service charging
Our full Financial Planning service does not accept brokerages, commissions or volume payments from investment product manufacturers. If any of these payments are made we pass them on to you.
We will agree a flat fee with you before providing any advice services to you, and will document these to you before you make any commitment so you know exactly what you are getting for your money.
We have often found that when existing charges that clients are paying elsewhere (sometimes without realising) are rebated, then the cost of our services are considerably less than was being paid previously for an inferior, or no, advisory service.
